“Whoever Builds a Masjid for the Sake of Allah, Allah will Build Something Similar for him in Paradise.”
Bukhari Hadith No: 450, Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith No: 7..

“Who is it that would loan Allah a reasonable loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.”

Our Accomplishments

Established in 1989, the Muslim Association of Virginia (MAV) has served the Prince William County Muslim community for over three decades. From humble beginnings, MAV has evolved into a dynamic organization dedicated to promoting Islamic values, fostering community unity, and providing essential services in the USA.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, MAV offers comprehensive Islamic education and programs for youth, professionals, and seniors in Greater Prince William County, spreading the peaceful message of Islam. Initially gathering for congregational prayers in homes during the 1980s, visionary community members purchased property off Route 234 in Manassas, VA, to establish Dar Alsalaam, accommodating up to 100 worshippers.

With the Muslim population’s growth, a larger facility was necessary, leading to the acquisition of land on Hoadly Road in 2002 to build Dar Alnoor, a 12,000 square foot facility. Today, the community has outgrown this space, necessitating expansion to better serve its members and fulfill its mission.

Establishment of Dar Alnoor

In 2002, MAV purchased land on Hoadly Road and built the Dar Alnoor Islamic Community Center, which has since become a cornerstone of the local Muslim community.

Educational Initiatives

MAV has played a pivotal role in providing Islamic education to children and youth through its Islamic School, youth programs, and educational workshops.

Community Outreach

MAV actively engages in outreach efforts to promote interfaith dialogue, advocate for Muslim rights, and support Muslim women and families in need.
