Join us In Expanding The House Of Allah (SWT). Let’s Work Together To Make It Happen!

“Whoever Builds a Masjid for the Sake of Allah, Allah will Build Something Similar for him in Paradise.”
Bukhari Hadith No: 450, Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith No: 7.

At MAV, our mission is simple: to establish and maintain a vibrant community based on the Qur’an and Sunnah that is pleasing to Allah (SWT), through programs that support the religious, social and educational advancement of Muslims we serve. This also includes establishing and strengthening relationships with other Muslim and non-Muslim organizations that share our values. Our strong faith is at the core of everything that we do. We seek to bring spirituality and community belonging to others in the surrounding areas. One of the ways that we do this is through providing the resources needed for Muslims to worship, pray, gather, and offer community events. Our outreach programs include working with the local homeless shelters, supporting hyperthermia drives during extreme weather by offering our doors to those without a home, establishing getting to know your Muslim neighbor drives by offering open house, supporting local schools with supplies, and much more! These outreach programs allow our community to find strength and unity. Our love for the community comes directly from our faith, and we’re excited to be able to touch even more lives with the planned expansion to our new community center.

Building the expansion of Dar Al Noor Islamic Community Center – One thing that our community needs more than ever is physical space to worship and connect with each other. Our Islamic School is currently takes place at a local high school – Garfield High School, simply because we do not have the space to hold it at Dar Alnoor. We’d like to bring our Islamic School back to our Community Center and institute programs for children, youth and seniors. The new Islamic Center will serve as a platform for serving and reaching more Muslims in our community. This fully-equipped center will accommodate thousands of worshippers and boast a number of other community-based resources.

Muslim Association of Virginia (MAV) needs YOUR help in expanding our current 12,000 square feet facility to a state-of-the-art 76,000 square feet Dar Alnoor (house of light) Islamic Community Center. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary of serving the Muslim community in the greater Prince William County this year, by the Grace of Allah (SWT), we look to improve and expand our facility into one that the community will cherish for generations to come.

Over the years, we’ve witnessed the size of our Muslim community grow exponentially, Alhumdullilah (by the Will of God)! During this time of growth, Dar Alnoor Islamic Community Center has lacked adequate space, preventing us from offering critical programs that our community direly needs. Our expansion project aims to fulfill that need so that Dar Alnoor can accommodate and cater to our growing Islamic community.

Our Islamic Community Center will provide a place for Muslims and non-Muslims alike in the greater Prince William County, Virginia to come learn, worship, congregate, dine, and even get medical and senior care!

We pray and hope for your continued support to make this expansion project a reality for our children and generations to come!

In surah Baqarah, verse 245, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala says,

“Who is it that would loan Allah a reasonable loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.”

MAV is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization aimed at providing comprehensive Islamic education and programs to youth, working professionals, and seniors in the Greater Prince William County. Our services support and spread the peaceful message of Islam. In order to achieve this goal, we have worked to develop a strong sense of community among practicing Muslims and non-Muslims alike in the area. Tremendous effort has gone into making this goal a reality, by the Will of Allah (SWT).

When we first started in the 1980s, there was no place to call our own Masjid (Mosque), and congregational prayer was held at each other’s homes.  Finally, on December 10, 1989, visionary community members came together and purchased a property with a trailer off of Route 234 in Manassas, VA. Dar Alsalaam, as it was later named, had the capacity to hold about 100 congregants at any given time.

As the Muslim population grew in Prince William County, a larger place to accommodate the growing needs of the community became a must. In 2002, the community again came together and purchased land on Hoadly Road in order to build out a 12,000 square foot facility – Dar Alnoor. We are now at a point where the community yet again has outgrown its current space. We need this expansion now more than ever before, Alhumdullilah!

The community is proud of Dar Alnoor’s accomplishments over the past decade, by the Will of Allah (SWT), but now there is an urgent need to grow. By upgrading our community center, we’ll be able to better fulfill our mission and touch more lives through education and community programs.

If we are to make this dream community center a reality, we’re going to need help from everyone! We’re reaching out to each and every one of you to join us in helping us expand this community center. The recommended donation is $100 per month per family.

We’re excited about what our new community center will bring. We thank all of our donors in advance. May Allah (swt) accept from you and May He reward you with your Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity).

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).”
[Muslim].Book 13, Hadith 8 Arabic/English book reference : Book 13, Hadith 1383

Building a Mosque is one of the way to achieve the Sadaqah Jariyah…

“Whoever Builds a Masjid Mosque for the Sake of Allah, Allah will Build Something Similar for him in Paradise.”
