Student Code of Conduct

Islamic Academy of Muslim Association of Virginia (IAMAV) believes that the most important objective of the School is to teach good, Islamic character and encourage virtuous behavior in partnership with parents. Virtues such as integrity, tolerance, honesty, fairness, kindness, and compassion are inculcated through the entire IAMAV experience: its curriculum, rules, culture and activities. IAMAV students are expected to be good citizens and to strive to grow in character as they increase in knowledge. They are expected to be honest, responsible and fair in their academic and social undertakings, and to conduct themselves with courtesy and kindness in all their endeavors. They must care for the well being of the school as well as for that of every member of the community.

The School depends on cooperation between parents and school faculty and administrators for the development of good character. Students and parents are expected to be familiar with the rules and expectations of the School and are expected to uphold them. Every Muslim has the power to safeguard or damage his or her own reputation, as well as that of Islam’s by his or her conduct. IAMAV kindly asks for your help to make the IAMAV experience pleasant and educational. Consequently, the School reserves the right to deal in a disciplinary fashion with serious misconduct incidents.
